Mission Our Mission
The mission of The Nature Conservancy is to preserve plants, animals, and natural communities that represent the diversity of life on Earth by protecting the lands and waters they need to survive.

History of TNC Hawai`i
The Nature Conservancy of Hawai`i is the Hawai`i state chapter of an international organziation based in Arlington, VA. Established in 1980, The Nature Conservancy of Hawai`i has worked with its federal, state, and private partners to protect more than 200,000 acres of Hawaii's natural areas that shelter native species, many of which are found nowhere else in the world.

A private, non-profit organization, The Nature Conservancy of Hawai`i has 8,000 members and is supported primarily by foundation grants, corporate donations, and gifts from individuals.
